The name of Shepherd’s Bush came from the common land where shepherds would rest on their way to Smithfield Market. Shepherd’s Bush Green still remains an open area of land surrounded by trees. Sports fans will find two tennis courts in Shepherd’s Bush Green; the home of the Queen’s Park Rangers football club is on Loftus Road.
